Want to know more about our coral reefs, sharks, sea turtles, seabirds, and fisheries?
The Department of Environment is thrilled to present our first World Ocean Day Fair on Friday June 6th at the UCCI campus quad from 11am – 5pm.
Come meet DoE scientists at the fair on June 6th and learn all about their marine-based research while exploring interactive booths designed to inspire curiosity.

Each booth will have a virtual quiz where winners can win a limited edition I ❤ Cayman T-shirt (while quantities last!)
Plus two new documentary films featuring DoE scientists will be screened throughout the day in the UCCI Cascade lecture theatre.
Our Global Ocean: The Planet’s Blue Heart, produced by the CIG Office-UK, delves into the challenges our blue planet faces, the resilience of its ecosystems, and the efforts underway to protect our oceans through the lens of the Cayman Islands.
Tagged & Tracked: Shark Diaries of the Cayman Islands joins the DoE’s shark research team offering a rare glimpse into the latest technology in action and how a better understanding of sharks can help us plan for a more resilient Cayman.
Then, on World Ocean Day, Sunday June 8th, catch both films on the big screen at Camana Bay Cinema. This is a FREE event!
