GT Port EIA – Terms of Reference

The Cayman Islands Government is providing Notice to the Public of the publication of the draft Terms of Reference (ToR) for the proposed George Town Port Cruise Berthing Facility Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). The public is invited to review and comment on the ToR, which outlines the envisaged technical approach for the EIA. The ToR has been developed by Mott Macdonald, as part of the Outline Business Case process, in collaboration with the Government’s Environmental Advisory Board, which includes representatives from Departments of Environment, Planning, Tourism, the Port Authority, the National Museum and the National Roads Authority.

The public is invited to an open house session and meeting to review and comment on the draft ToR and discuss the EIA process, to be held on Wednesday 20 November 2013 in Mary Miller Hall, Prospect (adjacent to Red Bay School). Open house session 6pm to 7pm, followed by a presentation and question and answer session.

Your input will be considered in the finalisation of the ToR document.  The ToR are available online at the bottom of this page, or hard copies can be reviewed at the following locations:

 

  1. Government Office Building, Elgin Avenue, George Town
  2. Department of Environment, 580 North Sound Road, George Town

 

Comments on the ToR may be submitted: 1) in writing at the meeting, 2) electronically via e-mail to doe@gov.ky, 3) mailed to Department of Environment, P.O. Box 10202, Grand Cayman KY1-1002, or 4) hand delivered to Department of Environment, Environmental Centre, 580 North Sound Road, George Town, Grand Cayman.

The comment period will officially close at 9AM on Monday 2 December 2013.
