DoE Guidelines & Best Practice

The Department of Environment has put together a number of guides or best practice descriptions to help people deal with a variety of environmental issues. In some instances, where the Cayman Islands have not developed specific guidelines, best practice will be adopted from other jurisdictions.

Marine Recreation Best Practice guidelines

Good practice guidelines for people boating or diving or fishing or doing anything else on or in the water, including those hotels and tour companies that work with them. – Make sure you and your business partners are being responsible. – Created by the Coral Reef Alliance, the Tour Operator’s Initiative and a host of others from around the Caribbean and the world.

Cayman Sea Sense

The Cayman Sea Sense project is a sustainable Seafood Education Program of the National Trust dedicated to helping restaurants and their customers make informed and environmentally positive seafood choices. The project will assist local chefs and restaurant owners reduce the number of non-sustainable seafood items on their menus.
