A new book about the Grand Cayman Blue Iguana will be available in the Cayman Islands this week, beginning with a launch event on Wednesday 21stApril (see attached flyer for details).
“The Little Blue Book – a short history of the Grand Cayman Blue Iguana” tells the inspiring story of a unique species of iguana that dwelled in Grand Cayman for over 2 million years. It was in tragic decline, and hovered on the brink of extinction – until it was rescued at the last possible moment.
The book interweaves Burton’s story of his bid to save this critically endangered species, with insights about the iguanas themselves. This is a first-hand, colloquial account which brings the subject to life with brilliant colour photographs.
The book will also be available at local stores, starting this week Online mail order, both for international customers and for local delivery in the Cayman Islands, is already available at the publishers web site, www.ircf.org/lbb
